Following the enormous success of last year’s competition, which attracted over 850 entries. The Christopher Salmon Foundation, in conjunction with Wirral Libraries, launched the 2015 Poetry Extravaganza in September 2014 and closed for entries on 15/01/2015.
The theme of this year’s competition was "Light”. The competition was open to Wirral Adults and Students of all ages and we were delighted to receive 720 entries. Cash prizes were awarded awarded to both winners and runners up in each age category and all winners were invited to attend a workshop hosted the renowned local poet John Hughes and to an awards evening held at Bromborough Civic Centre in March .
The overall winner of this years competition and Wirral's Young Poet
